The cable identification instrument is composed of a signal generator, a receiving identification clamp and an indicator meter. The signal generator mainly generates a special pulse modulation signal, which is added to the stopped cable to be tested through the output line, and the receiving clamp is used to find the tested cable on site. For cables, when the receiving clamp detector detects a special signal applied to the cable, the meter pointer on the signal detector swings synchronously with the frequency of the applied signal. When the signal detector is used to identify the clamp signal detector, the detected signals on other cables are much smaller. And the direction is opposite, the amplitude and direction are indicated by the meter, it is easy to determine the cable under test.
